Le Misugami est un papier fin que l’on utilise pour le montage des peintures. La pâte est chargée de poudre de coquillage (gofun) et le papier est assez mou. Il est immédiatement démoulé et mis à sécher, frais, sur planche. Le papier doit s’égoutter avant de placer la planche au soleil.

Minogami or Minoshi is one of the oldest papers originally produced as the name suggests, in the Mino region. The oldest fragments date from 702. From the beginning, the production is large. Mino during the Heian period (794-1185) is the largest producing region of Japan as well for bark as for paper.
Names derived from the general name like Mino shoinsi (for shoin shoji) are used since the Edo period (1603-1868). Honminogami (true Minogami) means a paper respecting the manufacturing label.
