Literally paper from Jinsu montain. It was manufactured in Suzhou (Jiangsu) specifically for the copy of the Tripitaka from the Guanghui Temple (Zhejiang) at the end of the 11th century. It's a tough and shiny paper, waxed on both sides. This paper has been widely imitated. The original paper is a blend of hemp and mulberry paper fibers.

Litteraly Xuan Paper. It is the abbreviation for Xuanzhou Gongzhi or Tribute paper from Xuanzhou. This paper is produced in Jing County, Anhui Province. It is made with fibers from the bark of blue sandalwood and rice straw. It is the mixture of the two types of fibers that gives its qualities to the paper for painting and calligraphy, in particular the effect of sharp brushstrokes. Sheet of very large size (typically 3.6 / 2.4 m). Made of one to three layers.
In the case of paper made from Dalbergia hupeana, the paper has abusively the same name as blue sandal wood paper.
