Plant cultivation and use

Morus mongolica is a deciduous tree growing to 7.5 m. It is in flower from Mars to May. It prefers a warm well-drained loamy soil in a sunny position but can accommodate to various kinds of soils and grow in semi-shade.

The bark has medicinal properties and the fruits are edible. They are a good source for the production of wine.

The fibers of the bark are raw material for textile and paper making.
