Senkashi

Senkashi is named after its inventor Senka. At the beginning of the Edo period (1868-1912), the Uwajima clan (Ehime Prefecture) encouraged the production of this paper and maintained a monopoly for decades. This paper is a double layer, strong and thick paper made ​​by superimposing two fresh leaves. It is used as book covers, for printing, for wrapping the kimono.
